Dear FCA Members,

I am writing to you all as we emerge from the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. On behalf of FCA, we want to extend our sympathies and support for all of you who may have suffered from the storm or are closely connected with those who have. We know many are grappling with power loss, home or possession loss, relocations and evacuations, water boil notices, and debris clean-up at a minimum. We want you to know that the Florida Communication Association is here for you all. Please, let us know if you need anything or if we can be of service.

We have set-up a Florida Communication Association Hurricane Ian Disaster Relief Fund for those who are experiencing adverse conditions and need financial assistance. This fund can be used to help recover personal items or can be used to help get you to the convention this year.

Please know that FCA is here to help and support you all in any way we can. At this time, we are still planning to have our convention in-person on Oct. 13-15. If you can no longer attend because of Hurricane Ian, feel free to reach out to me at lakelyn.taylor@ucf.edu. We believe the convention will act as a way to unify our membership and provide direct contact for those who may need assistance. We will continue to explore options that provide the best experience and accessibility for our membership as we move forward in the coming weeks.

Remember to have grace with yourself and with others during this time. Take the time you need to recuperate and re-orient yourself. Thank you, again, for your membership to the Florida Communication Association. We are with you.

Best,

Lakelyn E. Taylor
