CALL FOR PROFESSIONALS
FCA 91st Annual Convention | October 14-17, 2021

Holiday Inn Resort, Lake Buena Vista (new for 2021)
CollaborACTION
Deadline Extended: October 1st, 2021

Vice President’s Note: Hello industry leaders and professional organizations! Welcome to the Florida Communication Association (FCA). Here at FCA, we are dedicated to promoting scholarship which is both practical and pragmatic which we cannot do without you. The insights and perspectives you bring to the table are valuable and enable scholars to produce community-centered research which, in turn, will be better suited to assist your business/organization. We invite you to participate in our convention this year. Feel free to attend as member/member organization or as a presenter. It will be great to hear from you this year!

*************************************

You’ve heard of collaboration, but we here at the Florida Communication Association are taking it one step further. We are imploring everyone to put action behind their words and take part in this years’ theme of CollaborACTION. We invite you as industry leaders, professional organizations, and community partners to submit a panel discussion or workshop idea. Our theme of CollaborACTION asks our members to reflect on the question, “How do we bridge the gaps between theory and practice?” In other words, how do we make our scholarship pragmatic and applicable to YOU? We encourage all submissions to embrace this question through your own experiences so we can establish more practical research agendas. We welcome voices from numerous industries, organizations, and partners to speak on ways communication scholars can walk alongside you in your professional endeavors.

Submitting Your Proposal:

At this year’s convention, we will be offering three ways for industry leaders, professional organizations, and/or community partners to participate in the convention: 1) Industry Speaks Panels, 2) Industry-Scholar Workshops, and 3) White Papers. The convention is also offering industry leaders, professional organizations, and/or community partners to submit poster presentations concerning the status of communication in their business or organization. Your submissions can be representative of your organization alone or may represent numerous organizations. Participants may be made up of any individual who is presenting on behalf of the organization including, but not limited to: communication managers, marketing directors, managers, and employees.

*Please indicate which option your submission fits into when submitting.*

All proposals should be submitted electronically using the FCA website at http://www.floridacom.org. Use the “Convention” link in the top menu and then click on “Proposal Submission.” If you experience problems submitting your proposal, please contact Lakelyn Taylor at lakelyn.taylor@ucf.edu.
